Mike Force Memorial
JC,
I just returned from a 4 day climb to the summit of Grand Teton,[ hey when ya hit 60 ya gotta do something]. Anyway, I decided, before I left for the climb that I would leave behind,on Grand Teton, a MIKE FORCE memorial.
On July 3rd,the night before the final climb I left behind the following items, buried at the base of the summit of Grand Teton,[ around 11,000ft]
In the pic.,"MF memorial items" you'll see layed out on the Chapter 48 SFA guidon the following: Red Cross, OD,toiltetry bag, a small American Flag on top, one of my dog tags, a religious medal, a roll of C-ration toilet paper,( can ya believe I kept a roll of shit paper) and in the center the MF medallion from our reunion. I included a note explaining that these items were a memorial to the members of the MIKE FORCE.
The items, minus the chapter guidon, were placed in the Red Cross bag and sealed. This was then placed in a zip-lock bag, sealed, and taped.
In the other pic. is the Chapter 48 guidon on the summit of Grand Teton on the Fourth of July 2007 at 09:44, [the two peaks to the left are the Middle and South Tetons.].

Is Stumpy Burke the same Burke that had a random round come through the wall near his head in Sep 69? Glad you made it home.
